All Bartoli & Hunter Fire Surrounds are of a three-piece construction.

They are supplied in a variety of different finishes or, if required, ready for customers to decorate.

The fireplaces are well packaged for damage-free transportation and handling and also come complete with fixing brackets and installation instructions.

Bartoli & Hunter Fire Surrounds are suitable for most types of heating appliances subject to the appliance manufacturers’ specifications, general building regulations and the correct installation.

The modified Gypsum material is a hard durable material which will stand normal wear and tear but, as with the material it represents, direct impact should be avoided. It can also withstand heat from most types of heating appliances although stove-type appliances, etc,. should be set back to prevent excessive heat directly on the undermantle.

In ideal installation conditions the direct heat on the undermantle should not exceed forty degrees centigrade.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

When cleaning treat the surround like lacquered wood, i.e. dust or use a damp cloth NEVER use abrasive powders or chemical cleaners to remove a stubborn stain. Avoid standing hot or cold drinks on the mantlepiece. Never apply masking tape to the surface when decorating walls AVOID using metal tools on the surround surface when fixing.

An unfinished Fire Surround may be decorated by the customer using two/three coats of modern oil or water based paint. Check with Paint Manufacturers’ recommendations.
